John Hurff is the owner of “Schober’s” and represents the fourth generation of our family to run this farm. His children, Johnny, Jason, and Faith, are the farm’s fifth generation. His parents, Myron and Darlene, turned the farm over in 2007 after having run the business for 30 years. Friends from all over our community have visited Schober’s to buy fresh fruit for decades. Our reputation has grown via “word of mouth” endorsements, and we now serve
customers from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region.
A Visit to Schober’s
Although we’re located minutes from the region’s busiest areas, a trip to Schober’s is like a refreshing step back in time. As you drive past the lush rows of fruit trees on our 275 beautiful acres of preserved farmland, you may see our workers hand-picking the fruit during harvest. And depending on the season, you may see baskets of our own colorful and delicious apples, peaches, or nectarines as you enter our lot. You’ll also find the freshest local produce in season.
Walking inside, you’ll notice the aroma of fresh fruit and the sounds of forklifts and grading equipment preparing fruit fresh from the field for immediate sale. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will assist you in selecting just the right products for your needs, whether it’s baking, packing lunches, or putting up fruits and veggies for the winter. While you’re here, don’t forget to try a sample of apple or peach cider, and maybe a taste of fruit salsas or butters.
Perhaps you’d like to experience an old-fashioned fruit orchard and farm market, just the way you remember it. Or perhaps you’ve never visited such a place but want your children to get a taste of farming life and fresh-grown goodies. In any case, we are eager to provide you with honest service, great value, and fresh products and to form a lasting friendship with a new customer.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us–yes, establish the work of our hands. –Psalm 90:17
